Our "tug boat" in Puerta Princessa
This post is long overdue. We've been up to a lot since my last post. When I last wrote we were about to sail into a storm. This never happened. The port authorities would not allow us to leave until the storm was well clear of us. There was no tug coming into Puerta Princessa so we inched our way in very slowly using the bow thruster, engines and ropes which were kindly passed along by the man pictured.

Welcoming in Kuching
In Kuching we had a very grand welcome by local churches You can see in the picture to the right. They performed some songs and dances. It was not at all what we expected and we all felt very welcomed.

Trying something new with the projectors and a local band
I have run AV for tons of kids of programs over the last couple of weeks. A highlight was a program for special needs kids. It featured the story of punchinello.
We also had an event for local believer youths in Kuching. It was a great night and for once, nothing major broke down. We were limited to conventional lighting though because the desk was still out of repair.
In Malaysia I ate off ship a lot. The food was so cheap and so delicious it was totally worth it. It also helped that there was a food court right outside the port gate.

Thank God our lighting desk is back to working condition with the arrival of a new PCB. Please continue to pray for it however as we work out the bugs that are still popping up.

- Thank God that my parents were able to visit for 4 days in Kuching. I really enjoyed spending time with them and hearing more from home.
- I will be changing cabin within a month. Praise God for that. Pray I'll settle into a hopefully cleaner, more restful environment.
- As mentioned above, thank God that our lighting console is working again but pray for the little fixes that are still needed.
- Pray for the right people to join the AV and event departments with the next intake joining the ship in Colombo
- Thank God for the roughly 95 people joining in a month. Pray they'll be preparing well for their time here.
- Thank God for the group of friends that he has placed around me.
I'd like to finish with this picture of the sail from Puerta Princessa to Kuching. The sun set so fast, if I had come out onto the deck 5 minutes later I would have missed it completely.
