My Last Port

Well, I've come to the end of my time on board the Logos Hope. It has been a truly incredible time of growth for me. I've been stretched and have had many opportunities to see God at work. This isn't my last post though! I'll be writing another in a week or two before archiving this blog. A huge thank you to all of you who were at my presentation on Saturday. It's good to be home.

There are two ports I'm yet to write about; Keelung and Kaohshiung in Taiwan. These were more highlight ports and having a major culture and environment change was very refreshing.

I had two ministry days in Taiwan, both in Keelung. On Wednesday the 3rd I had the opportunity to lead a team going to a school where we shared about our cultures, the ship and what God has done in our lives.

This was quite an ordinary school visit. It was great to be able to share with these children and teachers but nothing remarkable occurred. Later that afternoon however I met one of our port volunteers and started talking to him. He told this incredible story how earlier that week he was traveling to the Logos Hope for his shift and he walked past a group of teenage guys. Stopping, he invited them to come with him to visit the ship.

Once on board he located one of our crew members who was able to give them a tour and share his testimony with them. 6 boys from this group gave their lives to Christ and our volunteer was able to connect them with a local church.

One of my last events

My second, and last ministry day was on our visitor deck. I was able to be our mascot, El Capitano, inside the giant suit. It was a great way to finish up, welcoming visitors onto our ship.

It doesn't stop there! We also had two International night events where we have many cultural performances. We were able to share a message with over 700 people in one evening.

Many things wrapped up for me. I handed over leadership of my AV team, had my last ministry day, attended my last Worship and Prayer nights and said goodbye to many friends. It has been an unforgettable time. I am grateful for how God has used me and I look forward to what He has planned for my future.
