This one is for my techy friends. You know how we used to complain about Behringer gear? Well, what we have here is on a whole new level.
We are actually running two simultaneous sound systems. Once for computer/music and keyboard and the other for 2 microphones. Each karaoke machine has two inputs that work. When we want the wired mic to work we have to swap inputs.
Every single connection is rusty. Each machine has a "gate" built in so low level signals just get cut but they are also picky about the maximum level that comes in. They distort at very low levels and if the input impedance isn't just right, it doesn't work.
Many of the volume knobs have only a few settings that they jump between. Off, extremely low and distortion. Who needs guitar FX pedals?
Thankfully the gear on the ship will be better than this.
